How could anyone dislike that? The question “what should I eat?” is answered for the foreseeable future :)
So, today I finally made my way to a bigger grocery store called Coles – turns out it’s 200 meter from the hostel. And apart from the little gem above, look what I also found:

More müsli than you can shake a stick at – yay! Ok, so maybe it contains an e in stead of an umlaut, like I’m used to, but hopefully the taste is the same. Anyways, before you guys complain, yes, I’ll see if I can find something other than groceries to photograph soon. Being out and about while it’s still light should help.
Part (or indeed most) of the the fun to be had from living in a hostel is meeting people, and my breakfast didn’t disappoint. First I met a couple of Americans who are also travelling before going on exchange. I managed to guess their nationality – the accent ticked me off, but what really nailed it was the peanut butter and jam. The guy had also travelled in Europe, and he admitted that anywhere he had asked about it, people would just look at him and go “What? You want to eat THAT?” When asked if we had any equivalently idiosyncratic eating habits in Denmark I suggest pålægschokolade (thin wafers of chokolate that you but on top of bread and butter). He liked the concept, and considering that two thirds of his fellow Americans are either overweight or obese, I think we have a marketing opportunity here :)
I also met a couple of German girls. It’s actually quite empowering when your skill with a language goes from 0 to 50 km/h in 5 minutes, after not speaking it for years. I wish the same would happen to my French skills…
My sim card is still in the mail, so I think I’ll buy a calling card to use with one of the ubiquitous card phones, when contacting people for my house hunt. Speaking of which – better get to it! See ya!
