So, I decided to expand on the suggested reading list, i.e. the list of websites for the house hunt, that I was given by the exchange officer, Kate. I went to the Australian website for Craigslist, a free bilboard service, where people post job offers, rooms for rent, etc. The website started in the US but has spread its service to other English speaking countries, and humorous examples from their personals section frequently make their way to social news sites like reddit and digg – see for example “It’s me! Every girl ever” and “Dear Internet Porn”. Anyways, the site does also have some more serious uses, such as the aforementioned rooms for rent. So I went to the Sydney section, and started browsing through it. And lo and behold, the second entry within my price range was this. I quote:
“So what I’m offering is sexual convenience. In return for your rent and the usual household facilities, you will also receive the services of a live-in cocksucker (me obviously). I would provide you with regular oral service. This could be daily or more or less regular as you desire”
The gender of the writer is actually not clear from the context, but I’m still getting a 7.2 reading from the gaydar. Well, I won’t let this scare me completely out of the house hunt – back into the fray! You can’t stop me, you weirdos! :)
